Choose the Right Bandsaw Blade for Pipe, Beams, Angles, and Structural Steel
Choose the Right Bandsaw Blade for Pipe, Beams, Angles, and Structural Steel
Cutting Pipes, beams, and other structural steel components with a bandsaw can quickly destroy the wrong blade. The interrupted cutting across the span of the part can induce vibration, uneven blade load, and multiplies the number of tooth impacts per linear cut distance. So it’s important to choose the right blade for the job.
For saws that use 1” or larger blade widths, we recommend Hellbender Tube and Beam or Lenox Rx+. Our Hellbender Tube and Beam blades combine a variable TPI with an impact resistant tooth design for optimal performance in interrupted cuts.
For smaller saws using blades ¾” and smaller, we recommend using Hellbender Longevity, our premium multipurpose blade, in a variable TPI. It combines tough Powder Metal teeth with a strong alloy steel backing strip for increased beam strength.
